Checked with most ADs & current list price of 116610LN is $11120. Not sure if they'll give any disc on it since Rolex Sports Series are almost always selling at a premium without disc?

The 16610 has a very firm place in the hearts of many here, and I can see why - it's probably the last of the classically designed Subs. But it is also a 20 year old watch, and it hasn't felt modern in comparison to other diver's watches for quite some time. For me, it is difficult to equate the price and have to put up with a functional, but cheap feeling clasp and bracelet. That was acceptable for a 20th Century watch, but for a 21st Century watch, I don't feel it adds up. Feel free to have a go at me for that, but that's my feeling on the matter, and has always put me off the Sub in the past.
The new Sub, for me, is exciting, and a real statement of intent from Rolex. The new bracelet and clasp have to be amongst the best of any brand out there, certainly the best of any brand at a comparable price point. I, for one, love the supercase look - a concession to the big watch trend, without making the case diameter any bigger. A clever move on Rolex's part. The ceramic bezel looks and feels great - compare the movement of the bezel on each model, and the ceramic just feels luxurious. The blue lume is also a nice feature, and well thought out - blue being the last light the human can see, handy if you were using this watch professionally. It's really put Rolex at the cutting edge again, and I am certain it will attract a whole new generation to the brand.
The 16610 was a great watch in its day, but if you want the best diver's watch on the market right now, the 116610 is the only choice as far as I'm concerned
