  • New GMT Master II serial numbers explained

Hi, understand there is a lot of debate on whether the G series or alpha numeral series is more desirable.

Appreciate some expert's advice here. Thanks.

Series always change, 10 years down the road. You look at G or alpha, it's about the same thing. No price difference

10 yr and above is definitely alot different

in terms of price of preown of the same model i mean
Actually I meant, 10 years later you compare a G series and an alpha, still gonna be almost the same.

Just like we are comparing a 1999 and 1998 year watch...you see it as about the same still at the end of the day dont u?

Thanks for the replies. A quick question - does anyone know what is the serial number (ie G or alpha or others) when they first launched the ceramic model?

cannot remember whether it is 06 or 07. GMT-C is the first ceramic model for sports. year launch coincide with gmt 50th anniversary.

IIRC, the ROLEX GMT-II 116710 was released in 2007, on its 50th anniversary which also explains its green GMT hand, and the green wordings on the dial.

green appears to be a special color for rolex
notice 50th anniversary models have some green on it
