  • Buying a new GMTIIc

    Hi ROC'ers

The thought of owning a Rolex has long been in my mind for quite some time liao, and I think this is the time to hit it.
It was originally a DSSD which attracted me to Rolex. But after looking around, I find it really toa kee. Then came the SS GMTIIc that capativated me even till now. So GMTIIc it will be for me.

Can I check with you guys, when I get this (brand new piece of) precision instrument from a AD, should I (or can I) demand it to be in the alphanumeric series? My thinking is the newer pieces the better-er. Who will want a old M, V, G series stock, when there's newer ones leh.

    Thanks
    Alan

Of course you may make any request relevant to the purchase of the watch. Problem will be, it may not be available at that point of time.

Good choice! I'm certain that GMTIIC won't be the last Rolex watch that you'd fall in love with. Welcome to the captivating world of Rolex!

But I think if you get brand new from local AD should be alpha-numeric since this model is very fast selling, stocks should be quite new?

Yes, you can. In fact, such a popular sports model hardly have old stocks. The stock clears very fast. But on the other hand, if you can find such a old stock, sometimes the AD may give you more discounts as the costings for different stocks are different. But like I had said, it's hard to get old stock from AD.

presume you mean jan 2012. I bought my GMT2c in March 2011 already in alphanumeric

                            Hey all,

                            Thanks for all your input!
For your info, I will be getting it in HK, land of many watches (preown, 2nd hand and fakes). I have actually tried putting on a GMTIIc once. I will go jalan jalan and try again (including submarine and kermit).

But you guys got any news about this coming basel 2012?
is Rolex going to intro a 42mm GMTIIc? or a maxidial coke bezel? wah, it will be tempting..

Looking at a preown GMT II ceramic two tone..

can bro here share the total number of links on each side of the bracelet?

i just to make sure the seller gives me the correct number of links i am entitled to...

                              Thanks.
