I am not too sure about the market rate of this watch but the 'N' series should be around 1991. For a pre-owned piece, you will have to consider certain basic factors before determining the price, such as the watch condition, accessories that come with it, availability of original docs, etc.

It comes with no box and docs. But the condition is rather good. So the mkt rate is 4-5k? He is asking for around $6k.

My mama told me NEVER buy from friend without checking market rate, cos they often chop you more cruel than outsider.

Ya. Think if i am not wrong, he went to a dealer and he offered my friend around that price. That is why he is asking if 6k is the mkt price and he will rather sell it to someone he knows than to let the dealer earn.

So on my end, i am trying to figure out what should be the mkt rate in order to buy it from him. The watch was recently sent for verification and i will like to ask all the seniors here to advice on the mkt rate for this particular piece.

If dealer offered 4.5k and sell at 5k+ what makes the owner think he can sell at 6k

I feel that to be fair, the owner/seller should get few price quotes from different shops. From a point of reference, say if most shops are taking in the watch at 4.5K, and re-selling it at 5K, then the owner/seller may consider to price the watch somewhere in the middle? Fairer to both parties, I guess.

Perhaps you guys are correct. It must be a case whereby he is using $$$ to justify the loss of sentimental values. Anyway, if u guys know about the mkt rates, do feel free to contribute. Cheers...
