Is it true that there's no discount for the Sport Series?
Someone from C***ina told me this.
What about THG?

This is what I was told in a AD located at Raffles City Mall.

Yes and no. Not all ROLEX sports models have no discount. Some do but I am not exactly sure which models specifically. And this is also subjective, ie a customer may get discount for a certain model at one AD and not from another.

buying from gray dealer in sg-roc may mean that you have to authenticate the watch @ RSC. however buyer must feel justifiable of the savings when choosing to deal with non rolex AD.

Yes. It is better to have a RSC's receipt than nothing. Everybody deserves a paper or an ID card.

Local AD are allocated a limited number of popular sports models. For every sports model they bring in, they are made to take in quite a few less sellable models, like ladies or date rolex. Hence AD will be reluctent to give discounts for sports models and more willing for other rolex models.

not necessary, even ladies datejust, depending on variation, most AD outlet has one piece per variation

Just saying even for AD, sports models are harder to come by and hence harder to get discounts from them. Just go down and push to see which models can get more discount.

in terms of quantity, its usually one piece per boutique per model/variation
each boutique can get new stock only if the existing piece is sold
in terms of demand, sports SS are always snapped up much faster than others , say sports TT/fullgold or datejust SS/variation
you almost will never see a subdate SS or a daytona SS sitting at any AD showcase

Then maybe my friend who works for a local AD gave me the wrong info. There is a reason why Sports models gets less discount, I do think it is because AD don't need to give any and someone will still buy them.

I suppose this is probably said to make their regulars feel good... the non-regulars will probably curse and swear at this practice... but I think the main reason could be to avoid situations where a walk-in customer who is not aware of market prices start complaining that the AD is selling at a price higher than what's on the price tag.

$19K shld be the price on Daytona TT, normal face/index. List is about $21XXX, after 10% disc abt $19K+....
