You can go for the bigger 42mm if your wrist can wear the watch nicely... or else go for a 40mm V or M Series without pin hole but with chapter ring. If money is not an issue then buy both.

I would get the 42mm,but it's just my own preferences...As i prefer bigger surface & circumference on my wrist...
Happy Shopping for your new year...

Hey, which shop did you go to which offered discount?

          I couldn't get any.

PM me if you cannot disclose it openly.

          Thanks!

Knowing that the new Rolex Explorer II (42mm) has been launched recently, will it considers wise to buy the older model (40mm, remaining stock) now? I cannot decide even knowing that the older one (40mm) costs lesser by 2k.
Really hope to listen to some experts’ opinion, and considerations.Thanks.
For the appearance, I find both the newer and old one are equally attractive.
            Hi, Ronyyk76, have u gotten your explorer 2, 40 or 42 mm ?

I was at the Rolex store at Changi and asked if they had the explorer 2. They told me it was not on display because its was a "premium price product"

Personally I wouldn't expect this from an authorized rolex outlet...
Do shop around in orchard road. I was at an AD in that location a few days ago. 42mm explorer was offered at list price plus discount. Both black and white dial have stock on hand and showcased, not hidden in safe like for premium priced models.

if you can find a BNIB 16570 40mm explr 2, may be good to get it coz it is out of production.....while the 42mm 216570 explr2 can be bought anytime, i think rolex produce it for another 15-20 years from now before new update.

Kind of decided on the 42mm already..but now back to limbo after watching the talking hands review..they mentioned the 216570 looks like a pop swatch with the enlarged hands..hmmmm...
Only a Rolex will do for me..a tradition passed down from my father and his father..
I have a love-hate relationship with rolex, i hate the prices but love the pieces..
Proud owner of a Rolex Explorer II 216570 polar since 27/2/13..okay..not anymore

Ignore the critics. Pop Swatch? Talking Hands review has probably written for people more interested in Casio G-Shock!
42mm is the one to go for. It has a great presence compared to the older version which looks much smaller, kinda resemble a boy size watch. I have tried both on and the 42mm just pop out nicely to me.. in the end, I got my first Rolex pop.. 216570!

The 40mm is more versatile I share it with my wife who like to wear it as well
But tat said buy the one that smiles back at you when you wear it
                                Cheers bros
