I agree with watcher78. 42mm is cool. Now the 40mm cases look smaller to me. HeheheOnly a Rolex will do for me..a tradition passed down from my father and his father..

I'd go for the 16570 anyday. A true classic.
Contrary to what some of us may say about the smaller size, it is all in the mind - take a look at it on the wrist from a distance. It is not that small. This is why it always looks good on someone else's wrist, but not our own.
The large orange hands on the new versions just irritates me no end. The orange just obliterates the rest of the watch, and looks "comical". Even the THG sales assistants feel the same way.
Reading throught this thread, i suspect that we are getting too used to wearing larger and larger watches. Bigger = "better". Before the large models like DSSD and the 116750 came out, we were all crazy and full of praise for the standard-sized sports models anyway.

Sort of Agree with Bro Puck , btw the black and white exp 2 I would say white is prefereabel as this is only other model sports besides the daytona and yatchmaster( I think) that has the white. I had face teh same choice before but went with the classic EXP 2 16570... the size is just nice for me and my wifey can wear as a large watch save money$$$ hahah"He could not just wear a watch. It had to be a Rolex." Ian Fleming, Casino Royale (1953)

No sure if this is the answer to your question:
Explorer II (16570) 40mm: ceased production on mid 2011. Hence, you can only find G and earlier series (V, M, Z, D, F, Y etc.)
Explorer II (216570) 40mm: Took over from mid 2011, Basel Fair. So far only G and Alpha numeric (Random number) series
