Is the SS Daytona still rare in your opinion?

In fact, actually a lot of ADs have it but just not willing to sell it at a lower price. To me, Daytona isn't really rare, if you are willing to pay, there will be one for you.
Same as Hulk Sub, also can get, whether willing to pay premium only or not, doubt it's really that "rare" as it's all mass produced.

I dont think any modern Rolex are considered rare. These days everything is mass produce and as long as there is demand, Rolex can meet them.My Current

enjoy reading all the comment.
Now I'm wondering did Rolex mass produced the vintage Paul Newman Daytona then?? Or they produced in limited amount like only 2000 pieces worldwide?
Can I say that what is modern now can be considered vintage in let's say another 40 years.

However there wasnt aa many of the pual newman daytona that could survive intact for that long and those that did were not so frequently placed in the open market.
Vintage models become rare thus.
So it is true that one day the current daytona might indeed be rare.
Especially mine, since i bot brand new with my name and address on the warranty card.
I guess i wont be selling mine and so 30-40yrs later it could quite rare. Haha
Secretly buy back all the vintage and destroy it and thus lead to it been rare???

I think it is not very popular back then and not many were produced and sold.
If your intention to keep a watch for 30years, i would suggest you keep a less popular/ LE(in order for it to be rare) watch with an interesting feature. Not the mass produced and highly popular modern Daytona.
That my personally opinion of course, any bros have any other thoughts?

Yup, i think many years ago Rolex was less popular. And now with branding Rolex is doing very well.
Only the limited editions or comissioned pieces are truely rare.
As observed by SeventhSon, everytime I go out will at least see one daytona on the wrist. In fact on holidays overseas, at hotel also see ppl wear daytona. So it's not truely rare. Like the rest have mentioned, its not readily available in the AD, and more common in the Grey dealers (for SS only). Guess this has to do with the tier pricing and rebates that the AD gets, so they have to resell their models to the grey dealers to reduce their inventory cost.
But it's truely a nice watch. But if you want to get it for rarity you are better off with another watch. (unless you get the paul newman or the Peruvian Airforce daytona.)

why is SS daytona rare? depends on which perspective you coming from. as far as i know in singapore, there are few pieces of daytona for each batch that comes through. hence in order to 'maximize' profit, it will command premium. hence the perspective that daytona is rare.
paul newman dial on SS is has low production number compared against the other dials. however, paul newman dial can still be found on current models of daytona.
would you consider inverted 6 dial rare in relation to paul newman dial?if you have issues with your account, click here for self help and read forum rules here. 90% of your answers can be found in Forum FAQ

SG-ROC dial 6694 is considered limited edition or truely rare? because there is only 20 pieces worldwide.

it is customer mentality. just like when they launched the JLC tribute to polaris. the first batch came with green lume rather than the correct 'patina' yellow lume. some buyers keep the green lume as it is rare. whether or not it commands premium is how buyer sees an item.
