  • Is the SS Daytona still rare in your opinion?

After acquiring a two tone Daytona as a Christmas present, I have begun to read more online forum about it and I must say the poison run deep. Simply addicted.

Many sites state that SS Daytona are extremely rare and I happen to get one BNIB V series SS black dial for my the other half at a very good price without much effort in bencoolen ( unworn with all plastic intact and a full set. with 2 years warranty from Rolex); nevertheless still second hand because warranty card is other people name but didn't affect me.

Is it still rare in your opinion? some says white is more rare whereas some says black is more rare. Which is which?

And it seem like selling at premium = rare ?
    Many thanks to all seniors.

In Singapore, it doesn't seem that rare anymore as we get more and more owners. Not as rare as the past, but I still like the watch.

Selling at a premium means its in high demand... High demand with low production means its rare... Just my 2 cents...

I went shopping at Ngee Ann City, came across 3 Daytonas in a span of 20 mins. Went to eat my fabourite prawn noodle at Serangoon also bump into a old man wearing Daytona eating there. So, Daytona rare or not, you decide. No modern Rolex is considered rare, they are mass produced and the Rolex brand has become 'mass luxury', just like merc, BMW, LV, Gucci, etc. Expensive but common. I am still a fan thou.

Even thou lots of ppl was spotted by u guys wearing as Daytona but that doesn't that's the real thing. Whole of cortina paragon there's only 1 single piece of ss Daytona. Selling at 17k. How can 1 piece in a watch boutique cannot be consider rare? From my understanding Rolex only give ad few pieces of ss Daytona per year. And ss consist of only two dials.

My AD gets in one a month. Not as rare. It is just a call away to get one. The existing Daytona still does not make me want to buy. But am sure there are many fans.

No need to Q... grey dealer got lots of it and price confirm cheaper than the 17k from ADs.

Never came across to me as being rare too. Unless it's call Paul Newman.
