Yes I will not go for Z plus 6 numbers. It never really bother me until recently. That is probably why Rolex use the alphanumeric system now so that they will have lesser issues in the future with guys like me Because no one can trace what is the production date except for Rolex.

My guess is rolex geneva produced these Z+6numbers in 2007 and only recently QCed and COSC-certified in 2011 hence the computer system showed production date as late-2011
the L+7numbers could be the new 8digits random system that existed between the V and G, not too sure about this

Personally I wouldnt get a Z+6numbers now even if computer shows 2011 production, because of the ambiguity
the L+7number is fine though, as the 8digit system started in 2010

mine goes something like U22N2222

replace the '2' with arabic numbers =) alpha numeric series bah... i was offer a G series but my AD told me the alpha series is newer and I took his words

Dear all seniors...I got my GMT in this month and it starts with JAXXXXXX (06 Digits)...is this consider alphanumeric and is it one of the latest? Pls advise. Thank you.
