  • Is it cheaper to buy in Europe vs local AD?

    Hi Senior,

I'm a newbie here and recently fall in love with GMT II 116710N.. keen to get one.
Any clue is it cheaper to get in Europe vs local AD?

What are the pro vs cons?

    Thanks.

It's the same watch. No difference between europe and local.

If you can get 1 in stock, and claim the tax back while you are there. Then you maybe getting 1 cheaper than getting in local retail stores.

    Challenge is...getting the stock usually.

On my recent trip through Europe, I travelled through Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Iceland , Greece and also Western Turkey.AD's like Wempe and Bucherer in Germany always have stock of this model, they will not discount as its popular in SS. The gold variants are open to negotiation .Pricewise its the cheapest at 6170eu and there is a VAT refund of 830 EU at the airport in Frankfurt or any of the major German airports. Other countries will charge anywhere from around 150 Eu more up to 200. In Switzerland it costs from memory 7500 SF but the net VAT refund is very low at only 4.5 %.
