  • Rolex Deep Sea Serial Number

    Hi Bros & Sistas...

I noticed the new Sea-Dweller Deep Seas will NOT have the respective watchs' serial numbers laser scribed onto the lug end of the watch...

    pics are taken from www.nippledial.com

    Another marketing strategy by Rolex?
By doing this, one cannot simply determine the authenticity of the SDDS just by visual checking of the serial numbers versus the Certification Papers (like we usually do) but will have to bring the watch to authenticate at RSC. Perhaps this is aimed at cracking down on the Replica market...?

    Good or Bad?

If I'm not wrong, it is even easier to visually check current model Rolexes (including the Deep Sea) because the serial number is now engraved on the rehaut at the 6 o'clock position. Just bring along a loupe or if your eye sight is good, the serial should be visible.

    Hope this helps.
Time is too precious to be measured by a cheap watch...

Most of us should be able to see it without the help of the loupe.
