  • Submariner Selection

    Hi Guys,
Im getting my first Rolex Watch and looking at submariner. Didnt really like the GMT version.

I do love the Blue Sub which is currently on sales but is it worth purchasing it comparing to a ordinary Black Sub?

Would like to hear some advice.

Costs over 20k more for the blue sub, it's out of my budget if you ask me

      Hi Darkangel,
But is it worth purchasing just because of its material (Gold)? Its 18K Solid gold, and i believe it would hold its value?

Oh the 2 tone...sorry been dreaming about white gold blue sub hehehee...

It's not the gold that holds it's value just to let you know. If you want to buy and maybe sell off 1 day, get the SS sub.

SS = Stainless Steel? I wont say i would sell like in 2-4yrs time. Just keep to hold its value?
I like the White Gold but its way to expensive.

Actually many people mistaken the upward movement of gold prices may equate to the upward movement of Rolex gold watches, personally I don't think it affects the Rolex gold watches price movement much.

If you want to have 'investment' value gold, better off buying 996/916 jewellery gold items. These will generally move in tandem with trading gold prices. Of course all these are my personal opinion.

Actually...you shouldn't buy new if you want to keep your depreciation low.

But anyway buy what you like ultimately

Was considering on this factor. If i buy preown which i was looking around in this forum its like 1/2 of the price of brand new of course im talking about Pinhole versions and also non-ceramic.

Hmmm... Looks like its a tough call for myself.

you have to decide if the watch is going to be sold later or not.

if you are buying for keeps, go for brand new. if you are going to sell it @ a later stage, go for preown. you wont lose as much compared to brand new.

then you have to decide what your budget allows you.

then you can start to look for one.
