It is revealing how this thread on falling Deep Sea prices so quickly got diverted into a discussion about the Daytona SS.

Shows the level of interest people have in the Deep Sea.

But the killing spree is over. Deep Sea is now available at list price through Dealers at Luxury Time. Some are now offering it BNIB at $9,500. Good luck to any AD's still hoping to sell at 17K. They made their killing during the first week of the Deep Sea's release. Anybody more volunteers ready to step forward to pay 17K?

I should specify it is USD9500 not SGD.

See the offer of USD $9975 for Deep Sea on Luxury Time by dealer BD Chrono on 17/9 at 5.13pm which is still available as of now.

Earlier today, he had another unit at USD $9975 which was bargained down from to USD $9500 by a customer. This posting was removed as it was sold.

Ultimately, the Deep Sea will probably be selling at list

....especially when most of the stock will be heading to Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and China - the leading growth markets for watches. With high supply and faced with a highly turbulent economic situation, the price cannot be too high. My guess? SGD 12k thereabouts.

I don't know what's the list price, just know that my friend just collected last month at $12,600 from local AD.

He waited for a few months though.

Yep, he is frequent "buyer" at THG. 2 months back already saw my customer wearing it. He bought it at about $14,000++ from Korea though.

Like the watch very much. Damn loud and solid(heavy). Like carrying a paper weight.

If got lightly used 1 I also dont mine as long as price is marked down. 9.5K USD is still not what I am willing to pay. If want big watch like DSD at that price I must well get a PAM 243? big and deep also

Very soft already, the market. Just wait 2-3 months, sure can buy at list.

Seriously need to revamp the twiddly braclet on a monster of a watch.

THG still pricing DSSD at 17K the last I checked. Visio sold one at 19K ... approx 2 weeks back ?

The demand for certain ROLEX watch models have been erratic over the years. Since I started this hobby not too long ago, I've seen such demands 'fluctuating'. This is just my personal observation and I stand corrected, the DSSD didn't start well. It came in not too very popular but over the years, it seems to have 'grown'. I see the surge in demand for this particular model in early 2011 onwards.

Some other models I have observed that saw this 'phenomenon' are the Submariner 16613 (half-gold in blue), Submariner 16610 and 16610LV. The Seadweller 16660 seems to have 'cooled down' a little.
