The price of this watch has been broadcasted in the forum many times. IIRC it is $14,140.

No discount is easily given now but you can try to bargain with the ADs.

Did you also notice the date of the information? The problem with these branded watches is that the price is often increasing, either in the form of increased retail price or reduced discount rate; sometimes worse - both happened at same time. Not too long ago, sometime in the first-second quarter of 2011, I accompanied a friend to purchase a brand new DSSD from a local AD and he was given 15% discount in any form of payment he wished for.

Dare I say it now that there is still 15% discount given? No, I am not confident anymore. Why? Because not too long later towards the end of 2011, I recommended another friend to the same local AD for the same watch and he was given ZERO discount . When I asked, I was told 'new policy' .

May be the more current buyers (of DSSD) can help to advise.

Submariner or DSSD? Both are great watches....it all depends whether your wrist can take it or not. Personally for myself, I look better with the SUB because of my small wrist.

Somehow I always perceive half gold datejust as rolex's trademark...

my wrist is not small, but i still prefer the sub as it fits better under my longsleeve shirt. plus it has magnified date, which suits my old eyes

Tried on the DSSD at the AD today, and holy s*** it's thick! I can deal with the weight, but the watch rides way too high on the wrist.

The AD was telling me it will "eventually grow on you". I'm not so sure it will, in fact I'm more concerned about the sheer weight and thickness wearing off me over time and having to put it on sale after about a year. Will look to the older 16600 model instead. YMMV.

I am considering Sub C and dssd too, it a hard decision to make. I only want to choose either one.

Bro Gunbucker, did the AD offer you discount?
