  • Explorer II luminous index markers same colour as white face?

    Hi,

Notice something, the luminous index markers on my white face explorer II. Is it supposed to be the same white tone as the face or should it be slightly yellowish? Or will it look different under different coloured light? I think it looks nicer if it was of the same white tone... But seems at different times i see it differently.. haha

means it was pure white in the exact tone of the dial when it is new isit?

For mine i noticed that it is already looking yellowish.. having bought it BNIB. is this a defect? Or is there normal ar?

      thanks!

i think when it is not 'charged', it is white but after exposure to sunlight, it turns off-white.... and when u walk into a dark spot, it turns green...nice .....

Believe this is an older dial using tritium lume. Is there any lume left? The discolouration is normal with tritium paint and if there isnt any lume left, u'll have to change the dial to restore the lume and colour.

Think mine is the M series, so should be the newer one right? but seems sometimes the colour is not pure white and sometimes it is pure white... hahah confusing! So for the M series, will it discolourise also?

The luminova when exposed to a light source will "absorb" the light. This causes the change in colour. As the absorption and released of the light involves chemical reaction, I suspect that there will be slight discolouration as the watch aged.
