wanna some advice if its worth buying a brand new GMT2C from overseas AD, stamped Feb 2011, Alpha numeric Series @ $8600?

I was quoted brand new local AD set but i think not Alpha numeric series at $9100.

what say you? i posted this cos i need make decision fast, apparently at 8.6k, its a steal?

I will choose to pay lesser to buy that same watch from the overseas AD, if he/she is reputable and trustworthy.

Personal preference already bro. Some prefer local...I prefer to save the money. So it's really up to you.

At 8.6k is a decent price...

I will not spend S$500 more for a different stamp, local paper bag, pouch/cleaning cloth from AD.

As warranty is the same. It will also not worth 500 more should you decide to sell in future.

Thanks for the input. Now thinking if I should sell my GMT2 to fund the 2C. Haha. I probably will anyway since I'm no collector.

Oh?! I didn't know that PIs do not provide "local paper bag, pouch/cleaning cloth" for the watches they are selling. Ok, then I retract my earlier statement. Go for the AD ..

I really don't get it...if the same brand new watch from overseas AD is not worth 8.6k, than you would pay 500 more for a local set

How do you define "worth"?

AD or PI, most important is that the watch is real. Do an authentication at RSC, just to make sure.

let me look @ it from another angle. one is alphanumeric, one is not. with alphabet series, at least you can trace the year of production. alphanumeric, currently no way to trace.

if buyer can authenticate the watch through the serial number on 'inner case' against the warranty card. all stickers intact. seller has good feedback. it is almost 90%. authenticate @ your own choice.

if you are one who is not intending to build a watch collection, i would say go the PI way. if you are intending to build a watch collection that spans beyond rolex, go AD way. why? build a relationship with the AD so that you can get better pricing in future.

It's a contact my friend recommended. He's been buying from him lots of diff makes. So he's reliable. Currently he only have 1 piece and it's a brother price to my friend... He's just extending it to me. Nevertheless, I will do an authentication at Rolex centre. Will update.

I meant if the value of a overseas AD set is worth say 7xxx if bought from Europe or hong kong, then I would prefer to pay 500 more for local set, otherwise get a friend to buy for me from overseas.

But if market value for overseas AD set sold by PI is about there then I don't mind buying...

Does my rationale makes sense?
