It's not worth it....I won't pay more than $4.6-4.8k for something that age.

ONe of the bros here selling a M series submariner at $6850...$850 more and get a brand new piece man!

The only reason I am considering is potential investment due to age/vintage.

Well....of course that's your choice but..ok I am not too sure about submariners but this is wad I think. If the X series(1990) submariner is a 16610...it's no diff with a current 16610. Those collectibles are before the 16610...which is like the 5513 and etc...

I would say, collect something before the 16610...now still producing a 16610...so no diff 1. Experts or Peter...correct me if I am wrong

There is a "U" series piece asking $5.5k at the sales page at the moment.

Since I wouldn't really call the 16610 particuarly rare ... so $6k without boxes/papers for a pre-2000 Sub is a bit pricey. In my opinion, a fairer price would be about $5.5k with box/papers or $5-5.2k without.

If you are going to pay $6k for a pre-SEL 16610 ... then consider paying $6.5+k for the older , also tritium dial'd 16800 with or without papers. That is currently more collectible ... and they look identical to the uninitiated!

If you goin to pay $6k mite as well find 16800. Not worth buying 1990s 16610 that much amount.

Check the series here.. 1990 should be "L" or "E" series..
