  • Half gold Sub-C or GMTII-C

    Hi I'm new here.
Been looking around but I don't see the half gold model being discussed much here.
It seems like they are less popular than the stainless steel brothers.

What do you think? Do they have lesser resale value compared to the steel?
Seems like both Sub-C and GMTII-C half gold have similar price.

I'm not sure if I should take the plunge.

    Thanks,

For ROLEX sports models, the stainless steel (SS) models are more popular and fetch a better resale value. But this also means that the SS models are more pricey in that sense, because of higher demand. Whether you should buy a SS model, or the TT one, depends largely on your liking, and should not be based on is more popular.

And if you asked me, I will go for the half-gold, half-steel GMT II-C

IMO TT GMTIIC looks better than TT Sub C . Reason being that GMTIIc is meant to be bling bling in the first place (i,e, the PCLs and all)

For SS, both look just as good

                Thanks for the input.
Seems like GMT2C TT is slightly (few hundred bucks) cheaper too.

Somehow the TT are more readily available vs the SS version in AD everywhere.

You are correct. This is simply due to the higher demand for the SS version. Also, the discount for TT watches are normally higher.

Happy shopping and give us the good news soon

another 1 up for the TT GMT2c, i had it on at the AD and i must say it was a very beautifully crafted piece, i nearly caved in if not for the presence of my girl (she doesn't see the wisdom of buying any watches..LOL) but anyway, the TT gmt2c is it!!

The sub TT is nonetheless an iconic standout from the range, and the blue dial is unique but not quite for me...and Im not sure if they had the hulk dressed in TT, that mite be a cool piece to come!!

plus, you will get more discount on the TTs (two-tones, not what you think, dirty ol' man ..LOL)!!

                      Great choice there, anyway!

Be like me, I have both half gold GMT-C & Sub-C, no regrets at all. Better grab early as I heard the half gold prices go up.
