  • Ss 16610

    Hi there..
I am looking to buy a new SS 16610. I am just wondering if some nice soul here could help to recommend an AD which can give the best deal in town

Our bro ahbai1976 told me someone bought a better deal than his recent purchase. Hope that someone could give me some recommendation as well.
    Your help is much appreciated.

If you must own a brand new piece, check out Watch Palace at LP. I believe some bros here have good feedback. Personally, I am not related to them and have also not bought anything from them.

If you are open to a pre-owned piece, it may be worth your while to visit this forum more regularly. We have bros with good lobangs for pre-owned but mint condition Subs. Judging from some recent transactions, prices look extremely competitive.

    Hope this helps.
Time is too precious to be measured by a cheap watch...

Thanks for the reply and advice. Actually i dont mind to get the pre-owned piece, but just worry abt the reliability as i dont know how to check what is good and bad. I had one bad experience of buying a pre-own watch and turned out to be lots of problem.

Any tips on what to check when buying the pre-owned watch?

Good question... For verification of authenticity, you can always pay S$75 to RSC for them to check. As far as I am concerned, Rolex movements are very reliable. There is rarely anything wrong with them especially if you are not buying a very old piece. However, the peripherals will vary from individual to individual... For example, condition of case, bracelet, bezel, availability of accessories such as boxes, papers, tags... Some folks want it all, while some are primarily concerned with papers and cosmetic condition.

My suggestion would be for you to visit any of the ADs that are suggested in this thread for you to take a look at a new piece to have a feel of the overall condition. This way when you look at a pre-owned one, you will have a basis for comparison. Of course sellers will tell you their piece is 90% or 95% or more. The best judge is still yourself coz you are the one parting with the money.

Good luck and most importantly, have fun hunting for the watch!

Final parting shot... Buy new if you want to spare yourself the time to do all the legwork for a pre-owned one. You won't go wrong with a brand new piece from an AD!

Well depends on how you see it...preowned has been great for me so far.

Just look for box and papers if u wish...the rest is just condition and age...authenticity is not a problem when u buy from preowned dealers

another reason y some buy preowned is bcos the bulk of the difference is borne by the first owner... The 2nd owner onwards can trade at a minimum lost compared to the first. For some, they wld explore 2nd hand cos they may be unsure if they will like it or not... So they buy a preowned to use as a daily beater and then decide if they like it, to buy a new piece sell the old or keep it and own a new one for collection purpose etc... It depends on u really.

Reputable brand of watches with gd svc ctr in singapore shld not pose much concern for a preowned....

                Good luck bro...

Buying a pre-owned watch will definitely save you some $$.

The important thing would be to buy it from a reputable seller. Preferrably the watch has some warranty left which you can send in to RSC for a free service.

                        I was recently quoted $7.3K for a new one and $5.5K for a 2001 pre-owned piece.
