  • Prices when ND Sub, Sub & ExpII get discontinued ...

The prices of the 16600 and 16710 rose when they were discontinued.
It is a matter of time before the 14060, 16610, 16610LV and 16570 are discontinued.
Will these models fetch higher prices too when they are discontinued?

The 16710 with the 3186 movement is commanding a higher price than the 16710 with the 3185 movement. This may due to less being produced for the former and it having a higher list price.

There are variations of the 14060, 16610, 16610LV and 16570. Will there be price differences between the variations when these models are discontinued?

    The variations are:
    14060 – 14060, 14060M, 14060 COSC
16610 – 16610 with pin hole, 16610 without pin hole, 16610 with engraved rehaut
16610LV – early production with dial and bezel differences from subsequent production (some view this as the true anniversary model), 16610LV without the engraved rehaut, 16610LV with engraved rehaut
16570 – 16570 with pin holes, 16750 without pin holes, 16570 with engraved rehaut and possibly the 3186 movement

    Your views pls.

the prices of discontinued models will tend to rise initially by a bigger proportion if they know that the new models will be much more expensive. take for example the GMT II. the list for 16710 was ~7555 before being discontinued. after it was discontinued, the resale price went up. as to the last 'special' M series with 3186 movements, it commanded such a high price because probably it was discontinued and the last known movement used was 3185 rather than 3186. however, will be it sought after in future? no one can tell. currently the hype is still strong.

it boils down to demand and supply, if there is higher demand than supply, price will go up. coupled with this is unless someone finds it worth keeping. however, to me, it is not worth because it is internal and not external where someone can see clearly the big difference. maybe some rolex collectors will keep them.

will you pay more or less for a zenith movement daytona or in house rolex movement daytona?
