He did a hand polishing job at first so as not to lose too much of the material. I am not sure why he did such a poor job and showed it to his customer. He later suggested a light buffering job to correct his error.

It was the small area at the buckle tip above the Rolex crown not polish the whole buckle.

Next time buy Rolex, check every inch of it. Not just check the crystal.

I suspect there is very little QA done on the buckle and strap or even the case.
Dont take this personally; but I believe if you stand firm, they may have to give in to your demands. afterall, they did damage your watch. then again, its up to the guys at RSC, if they wanna be firm, then you will be facing an uphill struggle.

Don't think they can just change the buckle. They got to change the entire strap. That's why is a no from them.

Anyway, the buckle is like new now. After they did some light polishing on the tip.

they can change buckle for you, they will have to order from geneva if im not wrong. it will be classed as a "special order"

let me tell u another experience with my imac.

when i originally spoke to a japanese techie (based in brisbane); she told me that glass cannot be ordered, etc etc.

the glass wasnt sitting straight, so i told the apple techies about it (along with my lcd showing yellow spots).
he mention my glass is perfect, and just need to realign. i say, cannot be, better order a new glass to come in with the lcd, then if u find out, i dont have to wait.
so before i go in, i use uv pen to etch a corner of my glass; i request that the glass be realigned or replaced.

true enough, the techie comes back and says that the glass was cut slightly out of line, and replacement glass issued.

Seem like the pricings and service quality at the local RSC have deteriorated recently ... Maybe I should trim down my Rolex collection (since 'timeless' classic designs, good value retention and reasonably priced & reliable servicing were what attracted me to Rolex in the first place) ...

Agreed that the standard is droping based on what our fellow member has went throught. But i will still be targeting rolex, as i can get it service Watch Klinik or Top Hour without much worry... Both of them got quite a good reputation in the watch trade...

                How can compare this way?

One is an overpriced watch from Swiss, the other is an overpriced PC from China.

I have asked Watch Klinik and Top Hour whether they use original parts and they said yes.

How do we verify this? Just trust them?

Where is the origin of their parts? From Rolex?

The servicing charges seem to be expensive.

I hope to service mine in 5 years.

Shouldnt that be giving more weight against rolex then? If an overpriced PC from china can do it, then surely a buckle from switzerland isnt gonna hurt

I brought my friend to do a verification at RSC. The watch came out with scratches on the backcase.

umm... wtf? mine went in to worries, but having scratches as a result of verification would suck big time.

No help at all from RSC, after consulting them, they insisted that it happens and it becoz its handmake n its powder base for the hr marker, it might be a uneven patch.

I argued saying if thats the case shldnt it be a manufacture defect. they say no! Ask where i bought the watch, i say from overseas AD, RSC straight up say u got to go back to your retailer to see if they willing to change the dial for you, RSC cannot do anything unless is local retailer, they can "try" to ask the local AD to change. I thought Rolex come with international warranty?!!

I m at a lost! any lao jiao can advice?
