I hope I am not prudent to add in my comments. For entry level, sub or explorer 2 are my preference. As a noob, I hope seniors here can share with $4.5k or less, it is possible to own my first explorer 2 with cert and box with no lug holes?
Cheers

another noob opinion if u guys dont mind. i vote for either sub or gmtII. i agree with the previous bro that the first watch should have a date. and i feel that if u go for the highest end model (daytona) it kinda spoils the fun cos v hard to like the lower models aft that. =x lol. furthermore, personally i wouldnt have a daytona as my daily-beater. abit heartpain and 2ndly u wont have e enjoyment of a "dress-up" watch for special events.
just my 2 cents!

I think most preowned expl 2 are priced closer to the 5K range, but maybe with bit of disc, may be able to do it at your price. Why not try looking at the rolex garage in this forum.

1. paperless exp2s can be found for 3k-3.5k with some digging through ah pek shops. not superb condition, but at such prices, that's to be expected.
2. i think daytona is not officially/really positioned by rolex as their "highest end model"...“Watches, no matter how much they cost, are better at telling time than making a person happy.†- Thomas J. Stanley
