New Sub - Black Marking

Hi friends,

Am a happy owner of a Sub 16610 which I got from an AD in Frankfurt. They had both the discontinued model and the new ceramic bezel model, but I got the discontinued series as it was substantially cheaper, and I prefer the bezel, which is slightly smaller than the new model.

One question - what is the black graphic marking on the left side of the casing? Can't make out what that is. Is there any meaning to the marking?

I think that is a sticker which you can peel off

By the way, any significance to the series V, A, Z, etc in terms of value? Like is there a particular series that has more value?

haha ok. Haven't acclimatise into the dynamics of this forum yet. Thought i was the last one to know amongst the seasoned bros here.

Listed price was euro 5,5XX, can't recall the last 2 digits. First thing that stood out was it was a grand more than the old Sub. Was in a rush, otherwise would have stayed and chat a bit more. He even wanted to show me the Sub LV but not sure if it is the new one. No time, had to check in at gate already.

Only this AD at the Frankfurt airport has it. Went to Bucherer and 2 x Wempe in the city, they don't have both series. They told me to grab any old Sub I can find at retail, and that the new Sub will be in est next month. Hence I was surprise the AD at the airport has both! When he asked me "want old or new series", i thought i was going to get a "sorry no stock/stock not in". He happily whipped out both in a jiffy.

Yup ur right about price - just checked UK price 5k sterling but there is a waiting list too. List price is about 20% less but delivery only late Dec or early Jan.

These alphabets represent the year of production of the watch. Of course, the newer series should give higher resale value in terms of age. I don't see any particular series in the 16610 that commands more value yet.

Yes I think it is high in my opinion. But I guess value lies in the eyes of the beholder.

Got tiers. Mine was EU604 based on 4600 price tag. Sub C could have higher rebate.

Mine is the mysterious G serial. There are several postings on this regarding the latest serial. No one knows if the random one (yours) is the latest or the G serial.
