It's a good buy. As the current Sub is to be replaced by the Sub C, most AD is not giving discounts, so 7% is not that bad. If not, wait till the new Sub C. Discounts may not be given intially but will take a long time, I guess, for it to have similar discounts as the current Sub.

I recently bought q V seris sub date fr a bro here. I saved more than $1k, which is more than 7% disc. There is NO diff between local and overseas set. Go to RSC to chk if u want a peace of mind

It has always been said over and over again - "overseas set vs local set". Now let me share this:

Many here, I believe, know that there is no difference in terms of the watch. A ROLEX Submariner from Japan/US, is still a ROLEX Submariner from Singapore/Malaysia. The watch is still produced from the same "parent". However, pl understand that it is the mindset that most people I've encountered here, and even in my circle of network, have, in that they just want to have a piece of mind.

And no, I disagree to some extent, that it is different from a 'agent' car vs a 'PI' car. IMO, it is similar over the mindset. If one prefers to get a car/watch from an AD, it is more the mindset at play. Some here had privately contacted me before, to recommend good deals to them for certain watches from local ADs, but when I referred them to those on sale by PIs, with slightly lower prices, they didn't want.

          Why?

It is simple - most replied that they wish to buy at ease and did not want to go through the hassle of having to verify for authenticity, checking very thoroughly on the watch, having no fall-back when problem occurs, etc-etc.

So I feel that we should respect that and move on. No point making criticisms on those who just want to spend their money comfortably. Yes, I agree that they may end up paying a little more, but if it is for emotional-mental-psychological comfort, why not? And, why bother?

Some of us here are young, more Internet savvy, better educated, and not all of us have that. So why can't we be more tolerant.

          Tx for reading.

Totally agreed! Some owners just want the watch without having to wait to view or verified. Most of the buyers from AD plan to or are return customers, who are comfortable to purchase from certain sales agent. We are talking about 2 different group of consumers. I mean I won't like ppl telling me how I should spend my $$$...

                Dear All,

Thanks for the valuable inputs by the Bros here.

Can see the different perspective the Bros are coming from.

So is 7% discount for a brand new local set good or i should hunt for better

discount elsewhere or any Bros might want to share??

                Thanks in advance

buy from whoever offer you lower price. especially BNIB.

say you save $500. you spend 1hr and $85 for authentication.

opportunity cost $415/hr. so if you make more than that, go AD and save your hassle.

Also consider the cost of buying experience. how much will you pay for the shopping experience, nice paper bag, some free pouch, pens...

                        Brand New V series Sub

                        Hi Peeps

Today i just bought a brand new V series Sub from a shop in peoples park. Comes with box, certificate card, and totally wrap like what u see in AD shop.
Do you think i still need to go RSC to verify? i think $800 off AD price

                        Thanks

I would get them to agree in black and white, on a return policy should the watch be unauthentic.

Spending another $75 at RSC gives you piece of mind and you still saved $725 at the end of the day. Why not?

Congrats on your purchase, mind PMing me the price and place you gotten your Sub? LV was it?
