If a salesperson slaps your right face with one of his hand, you ask him to slap your left face and see what is his reaction. That's normally what I do if the person is "too rude". If you don't understand what I meant, take feilong's eg, if he ask you wait, you act blur and ask him back should you sit down and wait? If he ask you to go somewhere to check, you ask him should you go Sincere/Contina to check if you are in THG?

Also don't always have this thinking that "customer is always right when you go shopping"... don't mind to "press yourself down" when do bargaining... take TS case again, if Sam said don't bargain with him for that only $100, if I were TS, I would have say to Sam back, "BIG BOSS, I am not rich, close the deal lah, it is just that $100 I am bargaining..."

But do it politely and remember "face is ppl give you, how you treat ppl and how ppl will treat you..."

      Cheers!

for me i prefer to keep my pride intact than to see the sales person face or mood...afterall i am the one putting $$$ in his/her pocket thru a successful sales...if i have to see the sales person mood of the day before i can purchase a watch , i rather dun buy at all ....

i am a simple and average joe using my hard earned $$$ to buy a watch....i cannot see why i have to endure the smirking and sneering looks and remarks...

All the above are my personal point of view...if the mods or bros in here find that offensive i like to express my apologises in advance...

Yes, you're right and I don't find any offensive comments from you, bro...

My point was that you have to let those SE knows that they are rude... but in a way to make them feel ashame of their behavior/words without creating a scene....

When you keep your cool, and ppl will respect you as a buyer and someone just see see look look touch here and there...

i am usually a cool cucumber type of person...but i simply cannot stand rude and the "see ppl no up" type of mentality of sales ppl ...If i ask politely for a simple 2 questions i suppose it is not too hard for the SA to answer them properly...afterall it is not a $100 nor $100000 watch i am enquiring on...however it is my blood and sweat $$$...i like to confirm i really like the piece that i am interested at the moment before i fork out any moolah...

i meant how long it takes to ans 2 or 3 questions or to take out the watch from the showcase...and best of all the entire shop is empty and void of people lest the sales ppl in there...

Bro, when you go there during your holiday, these poor SE are working and making a living, they are human beings also, unless you're buying a watch, if not, by doing this kind of "ji siao" gathering will create more rude SE...

Looks like Watch Arena is a better shop to deal with. Rude salespeople are bottom feeders and I will definitely give them what they positioned themselves to eat Watchlink is definitely off my radar from now on.

How about shops like Passion or JW? JW gives me the impression that they are able to sell their listed pieces very quickly! Prices can be attractive sometimes but its useless as its impossible to buy them before they are sold off.

i'm almost always in berms n flip flops in humid spore, n so far i've been treated reasonably ok by salesppl.

on the few occasions that i have felt offended, i'll usually take it that they have had a bad childhood, lousy family upbringing and bring my biz elsewhere more deserving of my time and resources.

i've been tempted to respond w aggression @ times, but so far managed to reign in my temper. unless itz gonna b effective, why get upset n waste time talking more than necessary to them.

if they're lucky, they might see the light one day and feel embarassed abt their sorry behavior. else, gd luck to them. my life goes on...

bad attitude = they are not interested in selling

they are not interested in selling = they don't want my business

they don't want my business = i bring it elsewhere

if they don't want to sell, we don't force. we are all nice people. we like to buy from people who put in more effort. especially when the shops are usually quite empty.

                                very interesting thread indeed...

I personally feels that the customer service standards here in Singapore needs to be improved on the whole and not only watch retailers. Its the same when you visit the Chanel boutique or sometimes, those shops that sell items that are not so expensive.

We have to make shopping enjoyable here instead of always calling singapore as a shopping paradise. The shopping experience should be viewed as a "whole" experience and offerring many products at competitive prices are just part of the "whole" experience.

One time i was shopping in Ginza, Japan, and i bought this t-shirt that costs me less than S$20. I told the sales girl that i wanted the particular piece and was surprise when she started to take out some wrapping papers to wrap the t-shirt and told her that its ok, don't have to wrap. But she insisted wth a smile on her face. Thats what i think is good customer service, exceeding my expectations.... she walk the extra mile and left a great memory and impression of Japan. That was 16 years back and i can still remember it today and the t-shirt is still around!!
