I think that takes more effort than just getting the ROLEX Service Centre (RSC) to change the dial. The cost of the dial, which will include the hands (they come in a set), is $668.75. RSC will not return you the original dial set and will keep it. The labor charge is another $107. Now you can do your math.

The waiting time is subjective. It will depend on the technicians' work load.

The above information is correct as of November 2011.

Really thought that I can keep the original dial and change the colour whenever feel like. Realised now that it is not that easy thing to do.

get a used preown piece , then you can keep the old one

Also, the hands need to change, if warranty still intacts then RSC's services are necessary. Heard that labour cost is high, and waiting time is long too. Well, buying the right colour watch is wiser.

Noob question. What is the difference between the hands of the white dial and the black dial?

White dial - hands are black-coated.
Black dial - hands are stainless steel.
