Also seen in a pic found on PuristPro, the Chapter Ring is the inner portion between the dial and bezel which is engraved with ROLEX all around the circumference :

its the small spacing between the dial and the crystal. it will have the words rolexrolexrolex engraved around the edge. serial number is engraved at the 6 o clock position.

Saw my friend daytona, the chapter ring has the word rolex engrave around the whole ring but dun have the serial number engrave at the 6 o'clock position... Y is this so?? Mine has....

Please look carefully, you would notice that the wording ROLEXROLEXROLEX is in-line with the minute marker. This is another way to proof if the watch is real or not.

another observation, the entire five alphabet of "ROLEX" is aligned within a 5 minute marker starting from 35 minute marking up to the 12 o-clock position. After the 12 position, the "R" position will be always be 1 minute out of the main 5 minute marking before ending at 25 minute position.

Rehaut

Funny, I've heard it referred to as the rehaut too. I've also read references to the chapter ring being references to the hour and minute chapter ring (ie the circle formed by the hour and minute markers - eg, the railway track on the Lange 1815). Whatever it's called, I prefer not to have it ("Rolex" once on the dial side is plenty enough for me).

I think that is not called chapter ring? Should be rehaut engraving. From my understanding chapter ring is a totally different thing?

I like to have

For me if i'm getting newer model , i will prefer to look for something with chapter ring , Dun Mind paying abit more for it , IMO it makes the rolex looks like a better finish watch and also the serial number can be seen from there , so once in awhile buy 4D if i feel like it , otherwise i would have never remember my serial number for my watch .
