I'm picking up my 114270 on Monday. thinking of swapping the bracelet for a leather or other black strap. thoughts?

I have too many watches with the fliplock bracelet. Thought it would be nice to have another look.

Btw, I also found some pics of the Explorer on straps and they are attached below. The pics are borrowed from a Explorer owner by the nick "expwmbat" in Timezone. I especially like the 2nd pic of the Explorer on black gator strap.

i always find it weird to have a rollie on leather strap...perhaps i'm too "conditioned" that rollie should be on bracelets....but i guess each to his own...well guys??

          cheers

i believe that the only rolex that looks good on straps are the cellini series. other than that, no go for me.

i really like it too but noticed that nowadays, usually worn by ladies and i find it too small, if they keep everything the same but make it 44-45mm, i sure get one...

Ender, I do have the same thoughts as u too. I'll be a happier Explorer if Rolex makes at least a min. of 40 to 42mm case. A classic feel with a moderen touch.

                            Hi bro Kermit

to inject a bit of poison to you. Exp I is still one of my favourite Rolex. Although nowadays I wear mostly watches >40mm, it feels good to put on 36mm on your wrist again. It's a classic and the beauty of its dial is second to none. I like simple dial.

I know I am probably alone here with Nato strap combo, but for a change, I like it

After servicing it will be fitted with bracelet again
