          Daytona rosegold 116505

Yo went shopping with wife n stopped by rolex boutique. She immediatey spotted the daytona rosegold 116505 locked in display n wanted to try it. Think thats the only rolex she likes after going to a few rolex shops for the past few mths. The retail is about $49k. After discount about 41k. I saw someone selling 2nd hand about 33k.

I assume for 2nd hand watch it has to be straight cash n botique accept interest free installment.

Just wondering if any of u guys would go all out n buy something sooooooooo ex? Or rather buy 1 or 2 different watches n keep the remaining balance? I really hope to buy it to suprise her but its really ex leh (she didnt want me to buy n spend so much on a watch)

Of course those driving >$500k car owners' answers will be a yes lah. I assume majority of forum members earn less than 10k per mth.

+1 to what was said, key principle is buy within means.

If you got the additional cash and wish to pamper yourself (or in this case, your wife), go right ahead. Life is short.

As to the 2nd hand at lower price, first consideration, can she accept a 2nd hand. If yes, (assume condition is mint as new, with light scratches), consider this equation - $8K vs Installment, i.e. the time your hold on to your cash within the installment period, can you earn $8K with it. If not, go for the $33K. Another scenario, if you are buying on installment as you cannot afford it in cash right away, better to save up, till the cash is in excess to buy your "wants". Needs may arise anytime.
