With reference to the new 116503, 116523 is discontinued. So will the 116523 increase or decrease in price/value?

IMO I think the price will be the same as other preown watches. It won't be sold as a premium. Discontinued not limited edition.Comment

the two models that you mentioned are two tone models.
generally the demand for two tone models for the series is lowered compared to the ss models.
as such, now that they are discontinued, it is less likely for the price to increase for brand new ones. for preown market, it will be based on demand and supply.
just look at the asking price for the ss models compared to the two tone models at AD.

Speaking of which. Went with some friends to a local AD recently and the price of a half-gold(TT) Daytona quoted to him, and after discount, was almost the same as that of a stainless steel(SS) model = about 19K

Discon does not means will increase. Depends on demands and supply. Like new model SS daytona is selling at premium lol. 1 good example is The SS daytona 116520 is selling cheap but now that it is discontinued, ppl r placing the price of NOS or preowned higher then just a few months ago. Ppl in Sg r just hyping it up saying that since it discon, harder to get, price will increase blah blah lol. Sg market is really small to play around
To be honest, most Rolex models r easy to get unless it new popular models that are just launched that u needs to pay premium or vintage Rolex. If it not, confirm not worth it to pay more plenty of it out there
