  • Rolex Daytona Chocolate/Rose Gold or Patek Philippe Nautilus?

Hi, just want to seek the opinion here. Between Rolex Daytona Chocolate/Rose Gold or Patek Philippe Nautilus, which would you choose?

Because price point is about the same, so wondering what you guys think?

I believe the PP Nautilus is a more sought after model? Better in resale price too?

Personally I will choose the Nautilus. I find it nicer than the RG Daytona.

I'm not on that price range, but if I were you I'd go for Nautilus. Prefer SS for Daytona.

Resale value will be better for rose gold Daytona unless u r talking about nautilus 5711 blue dial. But it u want to buy it, it seriously overpriced lol. Rose gold really look nice, nautilus looks good in pics, but not that nice in the flesh. I prefer Aquanat more sporty.

because for the same price, able to get gold for rolex and SS for pp. So is PP worth that premium?

One peculiar thing about watches I have learnt is that, it doesn't really matter whether the watch is in precious metal/stone. It all boils down to demand and supply. A live example is the SS Daytona. If I remember correctly, it retails at $16K+ and sells at a premium of $18K-$19K+. And mind you, it is STAINLESS STEEL. Comparatively, the tt Daytona sells with some discount.

So it depends on what you like and what you see worth. In terms of branding, I think PP is better? In terms of resale value, I think still PP (if you're talking about the 5711 blue) due to its scarcity. And I don't think you will get a discount for the PP? Whereas you may likely get some discount for the gold Daytona?

For that price range Rolex is out for me. You are comparing a high end brand vs a basic luxury mass production brand. They might be competitive in terms of resale value though.
