I brought my Batman in Switzerland for CHF8500, was told that no discount for this model.

So i suppose not much saving for me but only feel great from purchasing in its birth country.

Actually I've checked out the prices in Switzerland,in fact most of their watches prices are pretty high though they are originally made from there.

It depends on what model you buy and the exchange rate you paid for. Actually their retail prices after conversion are commonly cheaper but just that their discount control more strict and also tax refund lower that could result in higher price. However you pay the net price after tax refund and not the full price first and get tax refund later that can cause double charges from bank and increase your cost.

I bought my batman from there in 2013 and also paid CHF8,500. I used a combo of cash, and different credit cards to pay to maximize my card rebate. After coming back I noticed that for one of the credit card, the exchange rate charged was very high, I called the bank to negotiate and managed to reduce the charge and get some refund. End up after conversion to SGD I paid total about $10,700 for my batman after all the credit card rebates. If I had used all cash and I would have paid only about $10,500. But I didn't carry that much cash with me as I wasn't sure whether I wanted to buy before I went there.

So far the cheapest I have heard is $10,300 from Changi Airport Terminal 3. But I don't know where is it and chances are that will not have stock everytime. Anyway my opinion is that as long as you can get 5% discount for Rolex sports models, that is good enough. Don't need to super stress until must get the cheapest of the cheapest.

Went there to check before I go back home just for curiosity and no Batman is available.
Did asked about pricing and they couldn't quote since they don't have any.

Strange....I think they didn't wanna tell you, because if they know the model you are looking for, even if they don't have stock rightfully they should know how much they are selling. Anyway so far I think only one member managed to buy from T3.

Yup,i agree. They are obliged to let customers know the prices even if there're no stock available. So i guess the staff deliverately kept the price from you.

It's not like that la guys

Unless the (watch) model is a not-so-popular model where the pricing is almost always stable, any model that is in high demand, the ADs often find it hard to give their customers a definite pricing. It is difficult to please everyone. If the AD quotes you a price for a watch that has not stock, and subsequently tells you another price (usually higher) when there is stock, how will you take it?

It is not that they do not want to tell you the price, they also do not want to give their customers 'false' hope that a watch only costs so much, and later give you a higher price when the watch is available because the HQ instructed so. Then how?

                It is demand-and-supply issue.

So far I have asked many ADs about the price of Batman and even though they didn't have stocks, all were willing to quote their prices. Well... Even if they do not have stocks they can always provide a disclaimer to customers in advance that their prices are subjected to changes so that they will not pin false hopes. Actually I saw a few comments on Facebook that there were a few others who went to ask the AD in T3 back then they quoted the price even though they didn't have stock. At the bare minimum as an AD it is their duty to at least let the customer know the retail price.

Anyway I really wonder why the AD at T3 was selling the Batman at $10,300 when he could easily sell it at a premium price.

10,300 without GST? even with GST is still fairly cheap $11,021.00.... Is this price right?

Nope to my understanding it's $10,300 everything in. I didn't believe it actually but the member actually posted the batman that he bought from T3 on the SGROC Facebook which I had to believe. Plus a few other members testified the price that the AD was offering. That was why I was dumbfounded. Imagine this was in 2013 when Batman was just launched!!!

For yr case I am not sure how you made yr payment in Switzerland
, cash or credit card, and yr exchange rate, but I am pretty sure you are not getting a lousy price on yr batman so no worries

I concur with u on the above about the pricing information.Cox I've enquired about prices before on all types of watches,be it popular or not so popular models, from singapore to the other half of the globe,i never have any issues of ADs not giving the pricing to me due to unavailability of stock.Even if that particular model which is going to sell at a premium, they will also advise me on the pricing.Maybe I'm lucky or its pure coincidental that they happen to tell me on the pricing?but i doubt so.

It was pretty common and I was not surprised AD in T3 couldn't quote me the price. Many ADs in the City I called also couldn't quote me Batman prices. Many quoted me quite a low prices even they don't have any stock. I suppose this was a trick to beat other ADs that have stocks and some of them offered me other models. So for me personally, it is okay if they prefered not to quote the price if they don't have any stocks.

I believe they do have a phone number that you guys in Singapore could also call to check the availability and prices.

                          Peaceeeee....
