    Rolex DeepSea Dweller, REF 116660.
BEZEL : Unidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel
Uni-directional bezel : A bezel that can be rotated in one direction only and is used to monitor elapsed time.

There should be No or very little/minimum bezel play on your DSSD.
From what you have describe here, it seem likely you have a wear and tear issue.
If watch is still under warranty, bring it to RSC, have it fixed.
If warranty over, check the price first at RSC.

You need to have it fix or lost event more, e.g water damage.
worst scenario, entire bezel fall off.

Thanks for the very thorough and informative posts. I will probably get the watch serviced and get them to sort the bezel problem out.

Once again, thanks for all the great advice.

I have sent in the watch to be looked at. The service centre confirmed that the spring under the bezel is 'a little worn'. Cost is about $30 to replace. So I told them to go ahead.

        FYI.

Hmmm...the spring on the 7 o'clock area there is it? Interesting how they confirmed it as worn...

Well, good that its all sorted out to your satisfaction...update us of the outcome...whether there's still tiny bit of free play after the replacement.

Sorry its taken this long. The bezel is working as intended, not loose anymore.

            Thanks for the info.
