Think it is totally personal preference.
For me, if it is for daily wear, as long as it is genuine, i am good.
However, if you have the intention to trade some year down the road, good to have papers for better negotiation outcome.
How it all ended up like that? Watches being traded without Papers and Boxes, is it the 2nd hand dealer's practice to take in watches without the papers and boxes? I am sure a serious collector will always sell their watches with certain and boxes the full works.
