Just bought a new rolex and wanted to see the difference between replica (good grades) and real thing. Went to a website and has a chat as below.

If Hans Wilsdorf creates a watch that works w/o batteries looks good, but cost of production is $8k - then doesn't that mean that a person in China who creates a watch that works w/o batteries and looks just as good, but cost of production is $80 is even more genius?

Even if $80 don't buy,as good as throwing $80 away.

I have seen many triple AAA or top grade replica's , some costs as much as SGD$500.
just a few of the issues you will face :-

1)timming not accurate
2)the gold colour on the half gold models start to turn colour really fast, especially in our climate(no way 18K for $80, don't kid yourself!).
3)these watches tend to last only a couple of months, can't be repaired.
4)you wont know where to hide your face if someone finds out you are wearing a fake (i'm sure your face/pride is worth more than a $80 replica)

At first you may feel happy or proud to have a "Rolex" but as time goes by, the clasp, screws all start falling apart. Until a point where you got to throw it away cos it does not look like a "Rolex". In my humble opinion, a Japanese watch (i.e. Seiko/citizen) for $80 can last you longer and keeps time well.

Whats the cost of mona lisa painting or last supper? Appreciate the time piece like an artpiece and the cost of production will never affect the value or resale value of Rolex. My humble opinion.

My friend had a high end replica Rolex, when he tried to adjust the lenght of the bracelet, he could not remove the screws to take out the additional links.
and after he managed to remove the links, the screws could not to screwed back!

Triple agree with that.... a seiko or citizen or a g-shock is well worth the money then spending few hundred bucks on ****ty or even top grade replicas...

Congrats bro, my elder bro is a rolex n Pam replica collectors( not that he can"t afford but he just dun believe in day to day wearing a real stuff).He has range from low quality trash to a damn USD800 Swiss replica...but one thing about replica rolex is no matter how good is the grade, they are still using 316L or 316F stainless steel..once I hold it, i know its a fake.(provided u must own a gen rolex).904L steel is way smoother...

Btw, that is just my opinion,replica or Gen, wear it happily and with good health.Cheers
