  • Deep Sea Question

I thought I saw somewhere there is a 2014 version of the Deep Sea. Is it true?

    What's the difference?

    Thanks in advance.

No it didn't change. Deepsea is deepsea. The new one is Seadweller.

There isn't a 2014 version of the Rolex Deepsea. The (one and only) Deepsea model is a variant of Sea-Dweller which is a very different watch with significant differences in term of both the dimensions and technical spec.

The latest 2014 model, referred to by Rolex as the Sea-Dweller 4000, is an improved version of the discontinued 40mm Sea-Dweller with upgrades in some components/materials such as the new cerachrom bezel insert in ceramic, chromalight luminescence and paramagnetic blue parachrom hairspring. The case size remains as 40mm and it is still waterproof up to 4000ft just like the last Sea-Dweller model 16600. I assume it wears bigger than the 16600 though, due to the new dial and case (vs the old).

Much like what Rolex did with the Sub C and GMT IIC.

Thanks. So now the sea dweller is available as well as the deep sea sea dweller. We have 2 choices now. Correct?

Get the old seadweller from secondary market... best bang for the buck.... best sports stainless steel rolex. Followed closely behind by the submariner no date, followed by submariner date a distant 3rd...
