  • Solid Gold GMT2c black vs green - which is more common

As far as my eyes and ears tell me, the green one is much much more common.
I have never seen another GMT gold black on someone else's wrist but have seen more than quite a handful of the green one on others.
In the shops and even online, i see more of the green one for sale on display compared to the black dial one.

So i am of the strong opinion that the green dial one is more common than the black dial one.

Any other owners here can verify the dial color they have?
Maybe a simple poll can be a good way to answer this
But i dont know how the post a poll so will go the easy way.
    Please add on..

I choose green because I find it more unique and it is also the corporate colour of Rolex and this model was to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the GMT and I bought the actual anniversary model (1st batch in 2005-D series) and in green dial too.

I have another piece from later years from Raffles Hotel AD.

Black dial in my opinion is not unique because there are too many vintage Sub and GMT SS models, current ss subs gmts , half gold and full gold models both past and present subs and gmts all come with black dials.

It is the green dial that separates this 50th Anniversary GMT from the rest of the models.
Goods news is that owners of the black or Green dial can trade in the dials at RSC with a top up (cant remember 800 or 1K)
and RSC will swap dials for you.

Its exactly becos green dial is the commemorative dial which makes it the more likely choice for most people who buy this model.
And probably this same reason why the green dial one is more "commonly" seen one for this particular model.

Those who own this model plse add to the count.
        I'm sure there's a lot more.

Plse add to the poll only if you actually own the watch now.
Not when you are now considering it or used to own it or wish to own it.
This is to make the poll more accurate of the ownership of the different dials out there

I'm not sure if the green is more common because I've hardly seen both green and black for sale in the preowned market. But I guess if green is indeed more common then it must say alot about it being more popular and more well received. In my own opinion, I would go for the green over the black anytime. Like what bro Ian Limm mentioned, green is definitely the colour that really stands out well for this watch and black is way too common. I don't think there is any other gold watch out there with this special green dial. Also, green is Rolex's unique signature colour, so I would definitely go for the green face gmt.

thanks for the comments but this really isnt a thread about which color dial we like
its a thread to find out who owns which color dial and then perhaps try to determine which one is more common.

like or not, doesnt matter, as its individual.
plse leave such OT opinions at the door, thanks for understanding. cheers
