  • Should I keep my Submariner

    Dear All

I have reading the Rolex forum for while and would like to seek for some opinion re. the following :

I have a 1993 half gold, black face Submariner (bought from local AD) with full box and papers. After my last service with Rolex centre, the watch has been kept in the safe as I no longer wear this watch.

Can someone advise me if I should keep this watch (will it appreciate further) or should I just sell it to invest into another watch? If I do sell it, how much can the watch fetch in the open market?

Thanks for your attention to my queries

so if the owner sell a 20yr old sub tt at $7.5k now, assuming his servicing costs over 20yr cost $1k, he wear the rolex FOC for 20yr
(this calculation is not considering inflation of the $)

another eg - a SS sub cost $4.5k+ at the same period early 1990s, but now can sell for $5.5 - 6k
            Very insightful. Thanks.

              Hi

If you keep the watch and not use it, I suggest you sell and invest a non sport Rolex that appreciate better value

Sub hardly consider a collector's watch than a day to day dress watch

So if meant to keep, sell & invest something else

If the condition is good with full set, keep it.

Bro, better to keep it if its still working perfectly and you have no need for extra cash.

If you are thinking of selling it, make sure you get a better watch than this one.

                  My humble opinion.
