as a general rule, discontinued models do creep up especially if they are in Mint condition.
The pace depends on how rare and popular the model is.
The 16613 blue is in demand because most prefer the old blue to the new blue.
Also it is good value as it sells close to that of a SS Sub.

The older and rarer the sub , the more the prices are going up...take for instance the 1680....few years back , u can get it around 6k but today...it goes as high as 9k depending on condition.

For the current model subs, I see resale prices declining rather than appreciating, at least in the short term. Due to supply of new watches stabilizing and also more used sets being sold in the market.

I went in playfully into a pawnshop to check market prices

Despite new models replacing current ones like discontinued Sub 16610, prices still did not change as there are too many sub floating in market.

So my reflection is base in demand not by discontinued models
