  • Help Needed: Has water gone in?

    Hi!

Asking on behalf of a friend. She has a Lady Datejust 178341. She adjusted the time this morning and forgot to screw in the screw. Then she rinse her watch just now and realised it only while drying it.

In your opinion has water gone in? Or it is still "safe"?

And if water has indeed gone in, what can be done? Bring to Service Center?

    Many thanks in advance!

Rinse? Difficult to say. If she sees condensation in the crystal in cold AirCon room in next few days, chances are water seepage.
Send for service if so. If vintage piece, concern is always on impact on unique dial and hands, less worries for movement.

Another alternative is try to use a small plastic box and placed the watch inside with a moisture absorbent like the pink elephant brand or those boxy shaped dehumifier which u can buy from NTUC Fairprice and guardian...then seal it tight and overnight...any moisture will b gone...

once a month I will try to put all my watches thru the treatment or when I suspect water seepage or touch water duration for too long...fyip...correct me if tis sort of treatment is wrong or bad...Cheers!
