Boy size...is it worth?

hi hi all,

i am new here and also new to rolex as well. Nd you guys professional advice here.

I like to get a boy size watch and saw one with plain mother of pearl "face" stainless size overall and in large roman, datejust, jubilee chain and the price is $10,252 retail.

according to the saleperson, every individual pc of mother of pearl face is diff in colour since it is natural and so far i went around the one i prefer is from watch palace but only offer 18% discount whereas there is a shop at penisula (forgot the name) offer 22% with her eyes rolled :P however the watch "face" very pink which dun suit my sallow skintone.


my question is :

1)is there any resale value for boy size watch?
2)i heard mother of pearl crack very easily....i am not exremely gentle here
3) do they entertain if i request for a whiter shade of "face"?
4)anyone know the model number, i loose the model number the lady from penisula given me all i can recall is 175xx

1) OF course there is resale value..but not as strong as the men's size. Well, firstly you paid less compared to the men's size and boy's size the demand is not as strong as the men's

2) Well...as for this...it's not like there's no crystal covering the dial right no worries for this...

3) If you are interested...u can ask them to order for it....u should see the cataloge then decide which tone u want

went shopping for a boy size datejust for my wifey too....loved the mother of pearl dial and the sales person told me that if you accidentally dropped the watch....the pearl covering inside the watch will shatter...normal useage should be ok...and i own an old boysize rollie...the resale is pretty crappy...

hope you get your watch soon and show us some pics!!!

can confirm resale is very "lok". the demand is low, but i find it much nicer on a lady

My view is to buy a pre-owned boy size. Go for the newer models, with dome bezel and oyster bracelet. It's really good value for money. My wife bought this from one of the pre-owned shops in Chinatown point for $5,700. It came with box, and papers.



The model is as captioned.

The retail price is more than $10,000 and assuming 20% off, it's about $8,000.
The watch was so new that it had some stickers still intact.

agree boy watch low in demand cos i been to alot of 2nd hand shop they hardly got any nice boy watch esp white face, ususally blue or black and no datejust

oh dear on the easily shatter mother of pearl dial...so pretty but so fragile

i guess i just have to look ard more

well... my first rolex was a boy size Datejust 16234... like the picture below, but it's in white face...

cos i hav a skinny arm, hence decided to go for boysize, since it's a "dressy" watch..

but for sports range, it's a different story... cos only one size...

that is a nice piece and yes i prefer white too and somehow i dun fancy other colour. black not bad. i saw one black face sunbeam sapphire case at watch palace...interesting i find! but i tot is a bit stark and hard to match clothes esp wearing pastel more ladylike apparel

i would see that i will wear this most of time so i prefer something more versatile and i hope i can find more options after cny....some say ppl will sell off more rollies after cny when recession gonna be worse?

did anyone try buying from pawn shop how realiable are they or rather knowleagble are they cos after rollies are not their forte. oh i heard even gold shop also take in rollies now??

Sorry, just to check, mine is the same model but men's size with after market diamond bezel, how much can it fetch now if i were to sell? No box no cert..

to me, I more prefer the blk mop dial looks great no matter how u see it and gives off diff colour in diff angle... Esp the one in the rolex website full gold in black mop with roman letter. hahaha
