advice needed...
am considering getting a dd but to get it bnib seems out of my mind cos the price for bnib is jus too ex...
the pre-owned market seems more sensible...
therefore, between 18239 and 118239, which is a better choice and why?
i know the 118239 is a more recent version of the wg dd... n on the one side, it is never wrong to get something tt is more recent given the improvements...
however, at least from the financial perspective, the 118239 is at least a gd 6-8k more than the 18239... i can get another rolex for this price difference... n possibly bnib for the second rolex...
hence, are the improvements from 18239 to 118239 worth the price difference?
thanks all...

118239 bracelet can be removed so I dont think it is made as part of the watch case.
The 118239 bracelet is more solid + heavier than the 18239.
In terms of true melt gold value,I think gold value us more by only 1K plus.
To me its not worth the 7 to 8K price difference for pre-owned 118239 Vs 18239, now you know why I never
had any of the 118xxx in my collectionMy 18K Gold Day Date "President" Collection:

but it is difficult to get a full set 18239 nowadays...

Originally posted by ThrottleTo me, it's not the gold value but the feel of the weight in hands or on wrist.
Thats why i like my gold gmt2c.
I love the 1823X series becos of the special case shape which can accomodate a croc strap beautifully.
So one can choose to wear bracelet or on strap
The 11823X series cannot be fitted with a croco strap without showing too much inner lugs so it must be worn with bracelet. It feels and looks solid with bracelet.
I will likely buy one in future.

So no reason to get a 118238 in the near future.
But i can foresee myself buying the 118238
18239 vs 118239 is a simple choice.
If you like the weight and dont mind spending get the 118239
If you dont mind the weight and dont want to spend twice the price, get the 18239.
Or you could get a 18239 + a 18238 for the price of a 118239
