Best Leather Strap for Gold Day Date

Hi all,

I need some help.

I am looking to get a leather strap for my gold day date. Ideally looking for a dark blue or 2nd choice a cream strap.

Can I get a decent quality strap, without costing an arm or leg.

Should I get a deployment buckle or a normal buckle, which one will look more authentic.

Which shops can I go to, or does anyone sells them.

Lastly, how much would a customize strap cost, if i want it in a particular colour or type, ie croc, lizard, ostrich, shark, snake leather etc.

Please let me know, pretty keen to get one soon.

Firstly Welcome to this wonderful forum.

For day date you need 20mm strap and you can easily find these in most watch shops for under $50.

Dark blue or Dark brown goes well with the 18K gold colour.

RSC selling the Day Date Croc straps for $400 and the gold buckle for $75 so a set will set you back by $475 and these lasts average 2 to 3 years.

in regards to the buckle that you mention, how big are those, 20mm or 16mm...

it seem that the original rolex strap tapers down from 20mm... do they make a "straight cut" that does not taper down... i like a wider strap...

how does the buckle look like...

The Rolex buckle is 16mm. So if you intend to use the Rolex buckle, you need to buy a strap that is 20mm and tapered to 16mm. It's not easy to find such straps.

I tried with RSC and they said it is a "controlled item" will not sell buckle on its on, you have to buy the leather strap with the buckle total $475!

I like the DD because you can take out the gold bracelet and put on leather strap for casual wear too,it looks casual and classic. here are my 18238,18038 and 1803!

i know that you can get a buckle from rsc with a strap but that buckle is 16mm...

i prefer a thicker leather strap at 20mm and is wondering if i can find a rolex buckle to fit a 20mm leather strap.

do rolex makes a 20mm buckle? thats what i would like to know...
