I really hope Rolex will take the cue from Tudor's success with Heritage inspired pieces, and come out with a "116538"
The modern refinements can include:
* Increasing the radius to 40mm
* Domed sapphire glass
* 300m depth rating (to distinguish from the black bay)
* Chromalight indices and hands'
* Modern glidelock bracelet
It should retain:
* The gilt dial
* Big crown
* Standard height (my only gripe with the black bay)
And ship with both the bracelet and a 16mm regimental one-piece strap with a fabric keeper.
They can afford to charge this above the standard SubC Date, control the quantity (limited edition). That would be massive!
Any thought what Rolex may push out?
Let me start:
42mm Plat YM and
SS YM2
INCREASE PRICES is what they will do
Yes on the SS YM2 ( Perhaps October / november... )
New Daytona for the F1 GP and at a new 42mm size... fairly sporty and some $18-20K list price on the s/s model !
daytona taikonaut dweller with date in 47mm, datejust master with annual calendar in 45mm, ym sky diver limited edition made from unobtanium in any size you want, sub2 with ceramic case and bracelet (can never be scratched???) in 45mm specially for the singapore market + special after-sales warranty for 1:1 exchange if there are scratches, and finally daydate3 in any size you want with life time servicing and parts guarantee. oh, and a perpetual calendar rolex... digital watch.
or...
or a "slightly revamped" daytona with the current line up, and new options (bezels, dials, straps, bracelets)...
cerachrom cerachrom cerachrom.
“Watches, no matter how much they cost, are better at telling time than making a person happy.†- Thomas J. Stanley
A no. of things they will most probably do:
1st: Increase their prices (as always)
2nd: A special 50th Anniversary Daytona with Emerald Green parts (i.e. Dial, Bezel, "Daytona" wording, etc...)
3rd: TT DSSD
4th: SS Sky-Dweller/SS YM/SS DD
5th: An all terrain aka Land-Dweller model (haha my very wild guess but maybe true?)

Agree with the pepsi cerachrom bezel for gmt IIc, but with 42mm face and a choice of polished centre links bracelet or satin-brushed finish and glidelock clasp.. complete with the fully in-house 3187 movement, instead of the present 3186!
