just discovered that the hour hand of these 2 watches are of different design!! GMT2C hour hand are shorter and wider...took me more than a year of ownership to detect it...

You're right! It does indeed look shorter and wider! Just checked mine.
Maybe the GMT2C hour hand is wider so that it will not be covered by the green GMT hand when they're in line with each other. It might also be shorter so that it will not be too close to the tip of green GMT hand. :-/
I noticed something else recently. The date looks bigger on the GMT2C. Not sure if it's due to different font on the date wheel or cyclops magnification is higher. -
