How long can a rolex last

I wonder sometimes..... most watches, if kept well-maintained, should last just as long as any ROLEX watch isn't it?!

Forever if maintained properly I would say.

I like to say that its not only Rolex that can last the distance. I bought my Seiko Diver in the late 70s and it lasted even to the day I sold it away last year (at about 3 times the price).
My Heuer Carrera was also bought around that era and it is still with me - running whenever I need to wear it.
My Rolex Datejust was bought around 1980/81 and I still have it in running condition.
Honestly I have never ever service any of these watches and they are still running good but maybe I should take it for some servicing.(If I can make the effort to).

fuly agd wth u esp the non battery types as the seiko watch given to me 4 doing well in my psle exam .. still working tdy ... maintain it 4 sentimental reason n hopefully able 2 hand it over to the next generation ..

Bros, you be surprise even the battery type also can last. About a few years ago I brought my brother 80s Seiko chrono to a shop at one of the Bukit Timah Shopping centre. The watch was already dead but all that guy did was give it a "hair dryer" treatment and put in a new battery and it started to work...So you see watches do last for most brands but I cant say for sure whether in todays modern era will these watches like Seiko, Citizen,etc last as long as their vintage siblings.

Agreed. I think i read somewhere that if maintain regularly, a good quartz watch can out live mechanical. btw my early 80's OQ is still ticking too.

Maybe these days the Quartz watch quality is not as good as before and therefore may not last...Nowadays things are not made to last...just like our home light bulb/tubes. In my younger days they seems to last for ages but these days you need to replace them often...geeee...

My Tag 1500 series quartz watch bought in 1993 still functioning well today after 20 years. Another Tag 2000 automatic watch bought in 2003 just had an overhaul service done and is working perfectly. So now i hope my 2 rollies can outlast my 2 Tags lolz!

It lasts forever, until you destroy it (that's what i think).

A Rolex is like a diamond, it supposed to last forever (I hope) but of course with proper servicing

my 1601 is 40 years ole and its still solid. Waterproof... The case is corrosion free and tested. Timing no issues.
