You're not wrong. I think TS' just getting an opinion if the ss Daytona looks good on leather. I've not seen any personally but guess it's not too bad?

Strap Recommendation for Rolex Watches

Yup the TS is talking about the 116520 which is the SS. Original Daytona with strap is gold.
I find the daytona black face with a black leather strap very masculine, so it depends on whether your wife can pull it off. 16.3k is definitely high for the daytona SS, unless maybe the strap is thrown in free.
If it wasn't a birthday present, can consider the 116519, second hand, the WG daytona with sodalite dial and with a blue strap... looks very nice on a lady. My wife liked it very much...but i never buy for her...LOL, no $$$.

thanks for clarifying
i have put a croco strap on my Daytona SS before.
it looks ok but it lacks the complete look of the original Daytona with leather.
the lug area is made differently, as we know.
while putting a strap on a vintage datejust can actually make it look better than on bracelet
(i've done many) , putting a strap on the very modern looking Daytona SS isnt as suitable due to the exposed lug area.
cheers

Leather strap recommendation for rolex daytona 116520
Hi guys,
Firstly, my apologies if there's already a similar thread on the matter, every time I search for rolex daytona leather strap, 2-3 pages of WTS and WTB threads turns up..
I'm looking for a black croco leather strap to go with my black dial 116520 daytona.. I figure if omega speedy can pull it off, why not a daytona ? I mean a sporty chrono on a black croco leather strap is a wicked look to go for a dress watch.. So, the straps gotta be: Croco, White lining, with deployment clasp is preferable..
Thx for stopping by,

Thank God bro throttle read this post.. I was trying to PM you but your inbox is full congrats on all of your good things in life btw, enjoy em in the bestest of health.
I'm trying to strap my daytona on a black croco leather strap (preferably black lining) and preferably with deployment clasp.. I'm thinking: if an omega speedy can pull it off, surely a daytona 116520 can do better ?
Any recommendations for a place to get the aforementioned strap ?G-Shock Mudman Military Series (Ref. in fact i have a 99% new one which will fit. any decent watch shop will have, about $20 to $40 depending on quality.
if you are looking for croco leather strap with deployment clasp, you will probably have to buy them seperately.
i have a deployment clasp somewhere and i can give that to you as i dont use it.
Croco leather straps must be size 20mm at the lugs to fit.
you can purchase them over the internet.
simply google, hadley roma or hirsch which makes good straps.
take note that if you buy strap and clasp seperately, make sure that they match each other at the buckle width.
original rolex buckles and clasps are 16mm, just for your info.
have fun.

I'm sure you can get it in Indonesia easily as well.
Just go to Mangga Dua, any watch retailer , should have.
at worst go to Plaza Indo or grand Indonesia, they will have.
if you come to Singapore, I give you, also can.
cheers

Hi all,
Hope you guys don't mind if i use this thread to ask. I was thinking about changing my omega speedy to a leather strap but do not wish to change to an omega strap. Do you guys have any recommendations in terms of which shop or kind of strap to go for? Thanks in advance.

It probably looks better without the contrast stitching too.
If you wanna go "NASA", Nato strap will be suitable and also very cool.
