whats new about that, in Oz we have to sleep with baseball bats and shuangjiegun . wasnt that long ago, some idiot climbed into my yard, just for kicks; and there is nothing you can do, because the pigs will just arrest you, and let the other fella off scot free.

Anyway, hard luck for this case....Singapore is one of the places that we cannot even sleep without having the door locked, gate double locked and maybe some form of security system.....

I stay in thailand quite often and when i go to my frens place to stay.....i am surprised that they dont even lock the main gate, the living room gates are not even closed....needless to say, the glass doors not drawn and closed.....i couldnt sleep that first night.....and the best part....nothing is stolen.....thats a 3rd world country for you as compared to singapore....somethings we really have to learn.....

anyway, good luck and all the best....cheers!!!

You think Singapore police so free ah.....there only 8000 of them vs 4 million people. Ha ha ha.

Hi..sorry about the lost watch but I tell you its gone...unless the thief is stupit or dumb if not what they do is just scrap off the series number.
He then can even bring to rolex center and have it service ,the most rolex center will declare this watch has no series number..thats all.
You can even sometime purchase rolex from used shop without series number.....nobody can proof a thing..
            cheers..

First of all, Rolex watches doesn't have tracking devise or something.. for someone to place a rolex in a bag in the middle of now where is something. well, least thing he can do is make a police report just to have possible suspects of those people he was with when it happened.

File a police report and also keep checking with the pawn shop. If you have a police report filed and they take it there they will get in trouble.

brother ocean, do u think report rolex centre will help u to get back the watch? This watch will be sold to neighbourhood countries! not so stupid to bring pawnshop coz they need your ic. the numbers at 6 o'clock can be polish away in few days.

Anyone knows if it is possible to buy an insurance policy specifically for the loss / theft of our rollies? I suppose prob there are general insurance against break-ins if left in the house but I'm talking about losing it outside the home.

however, im not sure if you are referring to loss through theft aka being robbed or theft by hotel staff aka, you leave it in the room while you are inside the bathroom with the housekeeper tidying up and taking your watch.

if you like to find out more, please pm me. i can refer you to someone who can assist you further.

If you get a home content insurance and will like to insure your "jewellery, paintings and precious watches" specificially, you will need to mention them when you sign up, the premiums will be more expensive though. If not, your compensation will be limited, and it will probably be a fraction of your valueables.

However, if you lose your items due to theft, like eg. camera during overseas travel, like what happen to my friend, the travel insurance will usually compensate more but below your purchase price, as they need to factor in the depreciation value. My friend was lucky to get back 70-80% of her camera value & she got a better and new camera!

For travel insurance, better to check the criteria carefully. when i got my watch damaged; the policy i had was quite relaxed. just send the claim in, and a couple of photos. cover full insured value - excess.
