then usually polish the metal strap n what?
i heard tt sub bezel will fade off if polish too many times
Yours is the old or new submariner?
116613 or 16613.
116613: I don't think the ceramic bezel insert need polishing as it is virtually scratch proof
16613: can replace the insert of wording do fade away buy don't think so.
If I m not wrong, The colour of the gold will become lighter, but it will oxidize and turn darker over time again. Anyone can confirm?
Heard that before. But gold is generally inert even at 18k
When I polish my Daytona TT last time, it look the same to me.
Not really a big difference I guess.
My advice is not to polish unless very necessary. Once try to send my Sub for polish due to a deep scratch, was advice by SRC staff that polishing need to take out the whole machanism of the watch. This will actually affect the accuracy of the watch. Best is a watch from Rolex factory which is certified accurate. As far as possible, do not open the casing. Have wore a rolex for over 10 years without servicing, still accurate and no problem. Just my 2 cts.

Agree. The fine scratches will come back within like an hour of wearing.
I'm a careful wearer, but they still come.
